The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions(KCTU) on November 30 went on a general strike to call for the immediate resignation of President Park Geun-hye whose approval rating has plummeted to 4% over her alleged involvement in the political corruption scandal.

220,000 unionized workers in 16 different cities and districts responded to the KCTU's call for a general strike which KCTU planned to mobilize their members to pressurize the resignation of President Park Geun-hye who refuses to step down voluntarily.
