[labor news] Irregular contract workers call for IBK direct employment, not through subsidiaries

About 70 members of the Korean Facility Maintenance Workers' Union and Korean Public Service Solidarity Workers' Union in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province who are on annual leave or off duty participate in a rally jointly organized to call on Industrial Bank of Korea(IBK) for their direct employment. They oppose the intention of IBK to establish subsidiaries to hire irregular contract workers to respond to the government policy of the 'zero irregular workers in the public sector' on July 27 outside of IBK headquarters in Jung-gu district, Seoul. (photo provided by the IBK chapter of the Korean Public Service Solidarity Workers' Union)
