The Manufacturing Workers' Solidarity of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions(FKTU) held an expansion launching ceremony at the FKTU headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on the afternoon of May 30. Five industrial trade union federations in rubber, metal, textile, printing and chemical industries affiliated to the Federation of Korean Trade Unions had launched a standing body for solidarity activities in the manufacturing sector in 2001. Finally, in January this year, as the last two trade union federations in mining and food industries decided to join the Manufacturing Workers' Solidarity, the Manufacturing Workers' Solidarity were able to complete the solidarity body in the manufacturing sector with the full participation of all of seven manufacturing industry trade union federations of the FKTU.
