Trade unions of KBS and MBC, two of major broadcasters in Korea, are planning to stage a joint strike on September 4 to restore the fairness of the public service broadcasting and the plummeted public trust in them.
If it is successfully organized, it will be the second time of such a joint strike action, this time to remove the board of directors including their CEOs, since they went on a joint strike in protest of the Lee Myung-bak government's control over the press in 2012.
