People's attention is particularly growing on the negotiation over the minimum wage rate since President Moon Jae-in made an election pledge to raise the hourly minimum wage to 10,000 won during his presidential election campaign.
Although the negotiation between labor and employers cannot too much emphasize its importance, another critical variable is how to find out an alternative measure of assistance for the self-employed micro business owners and small business owners who shall bear the steep rise of the minimum wage.
The 27-member Minimum Wage Commission will meet for the deliberations every day until June 29 which is the deadline set by the law to determine the minimum wage rate for 2018.
