The Ministry of Employment and Labor on May 21 unveiled the outcome of the labor inspection on the 12 workplaces in the games industry which was carried out for two months from March to April this year. According to the report, 6 out of 10 workers in the games industry work more than 12 hours a day for 5 working days a week.

It is found that 2,057 out of 3,250 workers surveyed(63.3%) work more than 58 hours a week(compared with the statutory 40 working hours a week). They actually do 18 hours of overtime work per week. However, most of them are paid with only the fixed overtime allowance which is less than their actual overtime working hours, due to the employment contract of "blanket wage system'.
