Workers hired by the multinational pharmaceutical companies have been increasingly forced to retire in the past two years and the latest happened at Baxter Korea, a U.S.-based multinational global health care company, operating in Korea.

The forced retirement cases have reportedly caused the controversy in the process that the multinational pharmaceutical companies of Pfizer Korea, Novartis Korea and AstraZeneca Korea were implementing the early retirement programs(ERP).

When the multinational pharmaceutical companies find the voluntary retirement applications fall short of their target number, they arbitrarily make a list of employees to force them out.
