An accusation was raised that 100% of production line workers working in the Mando-Hella Electronics, an auto parts manufacturing company, are contingent workers.

The Korean Metal Workers' Union and Mando-Hella Electronics union local filed a lawsuit with the Jungbu Regional Office of Employment and Labor accusing that Mando-Hella Electronics and its subcontractor companies of Seoul Communication and HRTC infringed various labor laws.

The union claimed that about 300 unionized workers are actually under the instruction and supervision of the sourcing company Mando-Hella Electronics and two subcontractor companies are just temporary employment agencies which the law prohibits the worker dispatching in the manufacturing industry.

Workers have never had any written employment contract with the company, and 50% of the premium rate for over-time work, night work and holiday work was not based on the ordinary wage but on the hourly wage rate.

The union continued to claim that once when the production line was temporarily shut down due to the line repairs, the company did not pay the workers. The parental leave for child-birth was not given to the workers. When the industrial accident occurred, the company did not report the accident to the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The labor management consultation committee was not set up at the company.
