The Environment and Labor Committee of the National Assembly adopted to hold its hearings to question the cases of unpaid wages in E-land Park, union oppression in MBC and vocational diseases in Samsung Electronics during the extraordinary session of the National Assembly slated for in February.

In the voting process for the adoption of the agenda, committee members of the two conservative Bareun Party and Liberal Korea Party opposed the agenda adoption and left the session meeting in protest.

The committee's hearings will take place on February 24 for MBC's union oppression and on February 28 for unpaid wages of E-land Park and vocational diseases of Samsung Electronics.

While denouncing the 'unilateral' decision by the opposition party members of the Democratic Party of Korea, People's Party and Justice Party, the Liberal Korea Party announced a boycott against the committee activities and warned that the itineraries of the committee including the amendment of three labor acts may not be proceeded as scheduled, unless the normal process of the committee is restored.
