Experts in the areas of industrial relations, labor market and welfare suggested that the Federation of Korean Trade Unions(FKTU) actively participate in an earlier-than-planned presidential election process to influence the presidential hopefuls in their perspective toward labor.

FKTU President Kim Joo-young said that labor issues have been shoved off from the center stage in the previous two administrations of President Lee Myung-bak and President Park Geun-hye. He stressed the importance of the upcoming presidential election to realize the creation of a government which understands and values labor.

FKTU policy demands will be finalized for the public around the end of February after the internal deliberations on the drafts in which the expertise of the advisory panel is also reflected.
